Guesscade uses only the minimum needed for the site to work. No analytics, no advertising, no third-party scripts.

What we use

session	Cookie	Dashboard login	Signed, HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax. Contains only a user ID. Set when a streamer connects via Twitch. Expires after 7 days.
songguessr:settings	localStorage	Game preferences	Difficulty, era, genre filters. Remembered so you don't pick the same options every time. Never leaves your browser.
songguessr.volume	localStorage	Volume level	Your preferred playback volume (default 40%). Never leaves your browser.
guesscade:cookies-accepted	localStorage	Cookie banner	Remembers that you dismissed the cookie notice so it does not reappear.

What we do not use

No Google Analytics, Plausible or any other analytics service
No advertising or remarketing pixels
No social media embeds or tracking scripts
No fingerprinting or device identification

Managing your data

You can clear localStorage at any time from your browser's developer tools. The game continues to work perfectly — you just lose your saved preferences and volume setting.
